Biography

O'Toole, Denny E

Denny E. O’Toole, Age 64, of Waverly, New York passed away on Wednesday, November 15, 2012 in the Town of Barton, New York.

Denny was a 1968 graduate of Waverly High School. He worked many different jobs throughout the years, Tracy's Florist and Streeter construction just to name a few. He then began his career in the healthcare field at Tioga General Hospital now known as Elderwood, from which he retired in 2010 after 28 years of service. Although he retired he felt it necessary to continue helping others so he began working part time for Med Supply Depot. Denny had an interest in all types of classic cars but most of all he loved his Rambler. He could tell you the make, model and year of just about anything. He enjoyed drag racing and shooting skeet at the sportsman club with his buddies. Denny was the "jack of all trades" and always tinkering on something. He was always cracking jokes and those who knew him best would always tell you he had the best "one-liners" they ever heard. Just like they say at Horn's: "If you had something that was broke and he couldn't fix it then you probably didn't need it anyway .Besides his love of drag racing he most enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Denny is survived by his wife Susan to which he married on October 23, 1971 and had just celebrated his 41st wedding anniversary with. Also his in laws Edward McEwen of Palm Bay, FL, Paul and Diana Gilbert of Athens,PA, Rick and Laura Gilbert of FL, Howie and Kathy Gilbert of Rome,NY and Ed and Terry Gilbert of Hornbrook,Pa. He is also survived by a very special someone he considered as his father, Raymond "Jeff" Tracey. Denny is also survived by countless cousins, nieces and nephews. Also very special friends, Dale Searles, Jeff Barber, Joe Young, Jim Diebler and many countless others.
