Naomia M. Carey, 1921-2010, 88 years old, Born August 21, 1921 in Overton, Pa the daughter of the late Nelson and Ella Bedford Rinebold. She married John (Jack) Carey making Sayre, Pa their home.
She is Predeceased in Death by her husband Jack, Son Robert, Brother Burton Rinebold, Sisters, Geraldine Andrews, Inez Cordner, Niece Jean Mullinex, Twin Great Grandchildren, Morgan and Meghan Ressler, and Special Dog - Sparky.
Survived by Daughter, Naomia (John) Rumpff of Athens, Pa with whom she resided. Seven Grandchildren: Alissa Rumpff Crain of Sayre, PA, Michael (Sarah) Rumpff of Barton, NY, Denise (Levente) Levai of Nevada, Kevin Carey of Nevada, Becky (Carl) Fowler of Ridgebury, Pa, Brian Carey of Towanda and Shawn Carey of Towanda. 18 Great -Grandchildren, Nephews, John (Eleanor) Walmsley of Boonsboro, MD, Burton (Wanda) Wolfe of East Wales, NY, Nephew-in-law, Redmond Mullinex of Athens, PA, Best Friends, Nancy Jenney of Athens, Pa, Donna "Cookie" Casterline of Waverly, NY.
Naomia was a hard worker, working all her life until age 83. She started work as a teenager babysitting. She graduated from Athens High School in 1939 and started working at the Toy Factory in Elmira, NY. She later worked at the Blue Swan in Sayre and at a nursing home in Athens. She graduated from a Medical Assistant Program and worked for Dr. F. Latini (dentist), Dr. Robert Shaffer (Podiatrist), Dr. Mary Robinson (Podiatrist), and Dr. Kathleen Panepinto (Podiatrist). After retiring, Naomia spent her time with family and friends.
She was a life long member of the Sayre Seventh Day Adventist Church. Her church family was very important to her.
A time for gathering with family and friends will be from 5-8 PM, Monday, August 9, 2010 at Blauvelt Funeral Home, 625 Broad Street, Waverly, New York. The celebration of Naomia's life will be 10 AM, Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church on Wilawana Road with Pastor Gerald Small honoring her memory. Burial will be in Tioga Point Cemetery, Athens, Pennsylvania. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made to Ones Favorite Charity.
