Biography

Delpierre, Rita

Rita Delpierre passed away suddenly at the Rehabilitation Center of St. Joseph’s Hospital on November 7, 2009. Rita was born October 12, 1936 the daughter of Clement and Agnes Litzinger in Patton, Pennsylvania. Rita was a graduate of Mount Aloysius College in Cresson, Pa. and worked in her younger years as a laboratory technician at Butler Memorial Hospital in Butler, Pa. and at Lee Hospital in Johnstown, Pa.

She and her husband James were married on July 9, 1959 and recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. She is survived by her husband James and her two sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Sheila of Sayre and Jerry and Susan of Harrisburg, Pa. She is also survived by her two dear granddaughters, Erin and Meghan Delpierre. Other surviving family members include her brother Joseph (Lou) Litzinger of Johnstown, Pa., their children Alan, Myra, Kelly and Brian, brother Edgar (Rhonda) Litzinger of Martinsburg, Pa., her sister Eileen of Patton, Pa., her niece Jennifer (Robert) Anderson of St. Lawrence, Pa. and her nephew James Litzinger of St. Lawrence, Pa. Also surviving is her former sister-in-law Dianne Litzinger of St. Lawrence, Pa.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Blauvelt Funeral Home 625 Broad St. Waverly, NY. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at the Church of the Epiphany in Sayre, Pa. on Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at 10:00 am. Father Vincent Langan will officiate. Burial will immediately follow at the Tioga Point Cemetery.
