Biography

Franklin, Rita W. 

Rita W. Franklin, formerly of Athens, passed away peacefully at Saint Andres' Home in Biddeford Maine with her son Paul and other family at her side. She was 81. Rita was born on August 30, 1928 in Rome ,Pa. the daughter of her late parents Rupert and Mildred Woodburn. Rita worked at the Ingersoll Rand in Athens for 35 years, retiring in 1991 She has lived with her son Paul and his son in Saco Maine since 2006. Rita was predeceased by her husband Phillip Franklin in 1976. She is survived by two sons, Paul of Saco Me and John of Sayre PA, Paul Keysaw of Athens who lived with the Franklins during the last two years of high school and affectionately called her 'Ma', several grandchildren and one great grandchild Brandan Franklin. A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate the life of Rita will be held on Friday October 16, 2009 at 9:30 AM at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Athens, Pa. with Father Vincent Langan officiating. Burial will be held in Bradford County Memorial Park, Luther Mills, Pa. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Blauvelt Funeral Home 625 Broad St., Waverly, NY.
