Biography

Grazul, John

 John (Jack) Grazul, age 78 of 2724 Riverside Drive, Sayre, PA, passed away Friday, September 18, 2009 at Bradford County Manor.

Jack was born on April 25, 2009 in Shamokin, Pa. the son of the late Joseph and Verna Grazul.

Jack graduated from Shamokin High School in 1949. He served in the United States Coast Guard from 1951 to 1954. Graduated from Geisinger Hospital School of X-Ray Technology in 1957.He was employed at the Robert Packer Hospital in 1957 and retired from there in 1993 as the Director of the School of Radiology. He was awarded the Dr. Ty award in 2000. He was a member of the Sayre Elks Lodge 1148 and the Catholic War Vets of Sayre. Jack loved to hunt and fish and work in his garden. He was also an avid Dallas Cowboys fan.

Jack is survived by his loving wife of 54 years Gladys Emerick who he married on June 4, 1955 in Shamokin, Pa. Children David and Kathleen Grazul of Victor, NY., Daniel Grazul and Crystal Chapman of Waverly, NY., and Diane Grazul of Sayre, Pa.

Grandchildren: Michael Grazul of Victor, NY. Natalie Grazul of Athens, Pa. and Joseph Grazul of Waverly, NY. Sister Evelyn Grow of Horseheads, NY. Brother and sister-in-law: Marlin and Rene Grazul of Sayre, Pa. Sister-in-law Joyce Miller of Manchester, NJ. Several nieces and nephews.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Monday September 21, 2009 from 6-9 PM at the Blauvelt Funeral Home 625 Broad St., Waverly, NY.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday September 22, 2009 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home with Rev. Andrew S. Hvozdovic, M.Div. Pastor of the Church of Epiphany Sayre, Pa. officiating.

Burial will be held in Tioga Point Cemetery Athens, Pa. with full military honors being accorded.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorial contributions in Jack's name be sent to: The Sayre House of Hope 1 Guthrie Sq. Sayre, Pa. 18840, Guthrie Hospice RR#1 Towanda, Pa. 18848, or to a charity on one's choice.

Sayre Elks Lodge 1148 will hold a memorial service on Monday at 7:00 PM at the funeral home.

Mass cards will be availble at the funeral home.
