Biography

Hack, JoAnn M. 

JoAnn Hack 70 of 500 Harris St., Sayre, Pa. passed away on Tuesday March 24, 2009 at home surrounded by her loving family.

JoAnn was born in Niagara Falls, NY on July 24, 1938. At the age of 9 she and her family moved to Lyndhurst, NJ. JoAnn graduated from Lyndhurst H.S. in 1956. She and her family moved to Sayre in 1961. In 1969

JoAnn graduated from the RPH School of Surgical Technology. She was employed at the Guthrie Clinic for more than twenty-five years.She had the privilege of being the tech for Dr. Syney Ranck in the OB-GYN Dept, as well as other fine doctors. She and her co-workers, Roslyn Babcock, Paulone White, and Barb Nagar enjoyed their friendships for the last 40 years. They all held a very special place in her heart.

JoAnn is survivrd by: her devoted husband of 17 years, Charles Hack Sr. at home, a sister, Peggy Blend of Owego, Daughters and son-in-laws, Debbie and Jim Onofre of Sayre. Lori and Keith Lynch of Sayre and Lisa and Mike Alteri of Athens, step-children, Charles, Jr, Bruce, Mike and Jeannie Hack of Sayre Pa. Also surviving are her very special grandchildren, Josh Hack of Athens, Devon Hack of Newark Valley and Ashtin Alteri of Athens. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

JoAnn is predeceaded by: her parents, John and Margaret VanOrman, and nephew, Michael Blend.

JoAnn loved to have family gatherings, reading and spending time with her grandsons. She always was up for a good time. She was greatly loved and will be deeply missed.

A time of gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday March 26, 2009 from 6-8 PM at the Blauvelt Funeral Home 625 Broad St., Waverly NY.

Graveside services will be held on Friday March 27, 2009 at 11:00 AM in Tioga Point Cemetery, Athens, Pa. with Pastor James Donhoo officiating.
